But after 17 year old high-school student Steve Bellafiore (Cameron Palatas, Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous) recognizes that Franklin’s campaign is built upon hatred, intolerance, and exclusion, he decides to run for Congress himself. So with the help of his family, friends, and classmates, he starts a campaign - Operation Pass the Light - that promotes kindness, love, and acceptance without judgement, and strives to make a real difference in his community. Pass The Light is a fantastic movie! It is highly entertaining and extremely well made. In addition, it poignantly addresses a number of issues that are currently hot topics (especially in the church) that often drive a wedge between people and their ideologies/beliefs - homosexuality, bullying, broken marriages, judging others, unemployment, and more. After watching the movie I was left thinking about it for days thereafter. And I think that’s a sign of a great movie… one that stays with you.
