In the book Lead Like Jesus , Ken Blanchard states , “ At some point , every leader must ask themselves , are they here to serve or be served .” Great question isn ’ t it . As leader your motive has to be right . It is about adding value to other peoples lives and helping them achieve their goals , dreams , and vision . There is something about serving that most tend to overlook . If you help enough people get what they want , in return , you will get what you want . Make sure your motive is right and serve ( give ) when the opportunity presents itself .
Serving goes beyond a Sunday or two . It ' s a lifestyle and state of mind . What you should always keep in mind is this , " whatever we make happen for others , God makes happen for you ." The more you sow into others , the greater the harvest of influence . I know from personal experience that the more I serve others , the more joy that is present in my life . Often we get stuck in a rut as a leader and get burnt out from the daily grind . Serving always gives you perspective and renews your energy . I find no greater joy than seeing others win !
Rick Warren states , " You weren ' t created just to consume resourcesto eat , breathe , and take up space . God designed you to make a difference ." We are presented with so many opportunities daily to make a difference in a person ' s life . As a leader , intentionally look for ways to give of your time , talent , and skill . Life is more rewarding when we are engaging with those around us . As a leader you are a dealer of hope . Don ' t miss out making a difference in someones ' life today by not being intentional with your giving .
