Christian Action Team Report 54 Arrupe Angel Gift Program Nearly 100 children, living in or attending school in the neighborhood surrounding Saint Ignatius participate in free-of-charge after-school programs here on campus through the Arrupe Neighborhood Partnership Program every week. The annual Arrupe Gift Program recognizes these children who have committe d through their attendance, respect, effort, and attitude to our afterschool tutoring and mentoring programs (guided by the generous service of Saint Ignatius and female high school students) by treating them to a festive Christmas celebration and a gift bag during the week of December 9, 2013. How you can help continue creating Christmas memories for children through this tradition: 1.) Make one of the following “Package Donations”: A.) The Saint Ignatius Travel Package: $10 We will purchase $10 worth of RTA Bus Passes (Round Trip for Two) B.) The Fr. Pedro Arrupe, S.J. Package: $25 We will purchase Capitol Cinemas Movie Passes (Two for $15) and RTA Bus Passes (Two for $10) C.) The Arrupe Guardian Angel Package: $50 We will purchase everything needed for one child’s gift bag: Gift cards to Retail Stores at Steelyard Commons (Walmart, Target or Payless), Subway 4 Cans, 4 Dollars, 4 Others In support of our Rini Family Christmas Food Drive, and Student Senate-sponsored Christmas in the Community, all Saint Ignatius students are encouraged to donate: Restaurants, RTA Bus Passes and Cleveland Cinemas Movie Passes Please make checks payable to “Saint Ignatius Arrupe Angel”. 2.) Directly purchase any of the special gift cards listed above (gift cards in denominations of $25 or less, please) 3.) Make and donate a no-sew fleece blanket instructions for making these blankets can be found at www.ignatius.edu/arrupeblanket Arrupe Christmas Party On Saturday, December 7, 350 children and their families will gather at Saint Ignatius for an afternoon of crafts, games, cookies, holiday cheer and a visit with Santa at the annual Arrupe Christmas Party sponsored by the Loyola Society. Families of Saint Ignatius students are asked to consider a donation of a new winter hat and gloves/mittens. Donations are most appreciated and will be given out as gifts at the Christmas Party. Student volunteers are needed to help at the party and can sign up to do so at www.ignatius.edu/arrupechristmas. Donations can be mailed to or dropped off at the Arrupe House or outside of Campus Ministry. 4 Cans: Dec. 2-6, 2013 Every student is asked to bring in four cans (or boxes) of food assigned by homeroom. 4 Dollars: Dec. 9-13, 2013 Students are asked to make a monetary sacrifice of $4 which will be used to purchase fresh food items. 4 Others: Dec. 16-20, 2013 Homerooms are asked to bring in small toys for Christmas in the Community Day. Age groups/toys are assigned by homeroom. Join us for the 77th annual Rini Family Christmas Food Drive RINI FAMILY CHRISTMAS FOOD DRIVE A Ministry of the Christian Action Team Saint Ignatius High School All families in the Saint Ignatius community are invited to participate in the Rini Family Christmas Food Drive on Saturday, December 21, 2013, beginning with Mass in the Saint Mary of the Assumption Chapel at 8:30 a.m. and followed by breakfast in Rade Dining Hall compliments of the Jesuit Community. Eucharistic Adoration in the chapel and delivery of 700 food baskets will follow Mass. In its 77th year, the event has been renamed by the family of the late Mr. Chuck Rini with a generous gift to the endowment of the school.
