Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not
brag and is not arrogant,5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its
own, is not provoked, does not take into account a
wrong suffered, 6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with
the truth;7bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures
all things. 8 Love never fails;
“When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love
to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that
they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in
full. 6 But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door
and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what
is done in secret will reward you.
