Christ Centered Girls Magazine August/September 1 | Page 51

Here at Christ Centered Girls we love talking to other girls who are living their lives for Christ and making an impact in this world. 1 Tim. 4:12 says “Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” This is our go to verse because we believe it doesn’t matter how old you are, YOU can make a difference through Christ and FOR Christ. So in this section of the magazine we highlight girls in our world today who are out there changing the world and making a difference! For this issue we have found a young girl who is only 15 years old! She is changing the world one step at a time by starting an Instagram account to bring awareness to a very important disease many people (especially girls) have. Here is what she has to say:)

For those of you who don't know me my name is, Beatris. And this is my story. About a year and a half ago I became really sick and no one knew why. My appetite became less and less. And my desire to be alone grew more. No one knew what was happening to me and neither did I, I was lost. At first I remember getting mad and frustrated at people, I felt frustrated because I didn't know what was going on. Then, I would just get mad at people that would tell me, "Eat", and I just wasn't hungry. I started to shut myself in my room, I didn't communicate with friends and all I wanted to do was be alone. Eventually, my parents got worried, they started to take me to numerous doctors including one of my parents friends that was a doctor. He said that my parents had to take me to the Children's hospital in Phoenix where they diagnosed me with severe depression and an eating disorder (Anorexia Nervosa). And here I am staring my freshman year.
