With a bit of rear guard panel work, Gidney was set for race 3 and determined to gight his way back through the pack. A series of banzai moves saw the young Victorian and Gucciardo scythe their way through the field, with Chris eventually getting enough of a tow behind the yellow MGF to make a move down the inside of turn one with one lap remaining.

The effort was rewarded with another class winning and 8th outright for Gidney. Both driver were starting to cut the gap to 7th and 6th but found time was against any further progress.

A sixth outright for the round and currently 4th in the club standings proved to be a strong weekend on a circuit where the ZR wasn’t expected to perform against the V8 and turbo brigade will give Chris Gidney Motorsport some much needed confidence when they return to Sandown in just over two month’s time.
