Letter from the President
Thank you for taking the time to read our second edition
newsletter from the National Primitive Baptist Chosen
Generation Congress. We have recently decided to
postpone The Chosen Generation Conference until 2015
to give us additional time to create an event that will
enlighten, empower and encourage people. So, get
ready for “National Primitive Baptist Convention USA,
Chosen Generation 1st Annual Conference to be held in
Charlotte NC, 2015.
Your national youth officers are working hard, striving to
enhance the upcoming August Convention in Alabama to
impact and strengthen all the youth that we serve. If you
are not a part of our various social networking sites,
please take a moment to join us to stay updated on
upcoming information and events
As we celebrate the Month of February "Black History
Month", please take a moment to reflect on those that
made a way for this congress. We stand on shoulder of
Giants that have sacrificed and committed themselves to
the Primitive Baptist faith. Let us continue to strive to
enhance our culture and our beliefs as we worship God.
Yours in service,
Min M. Brooks Hughes

Those Shoulders
We stand on the shoulders of those who
paved the way,
those who took a stand in the days of
yesterday.
We stand on the shoulders of those who
chose to excel,
thus we have been challenged to do just
as well.
We stand on the shoulders not for self,
or to be seen,
but because we have a mandate, and
that is to intervene.
We stand on the shoulders with our
heads held high,
listening to their voices, you must
continue to try.
Thank you for your shoulders!

Some are familiar names, some aren’t, but
WHAT DO ALL THESE NAMES HAVE IN COMMON?
These are all former & current Presidents of the National Primitive Baptist Youth Congress in which a few are
charter members when the Youth Congress was officially established in 1974. Initially started as a part of the
Church School, under the leadership of Dr. Foreman of Wortham, TX, then as a sub auxiliary of the Women’s
Congress, where Mother Mattie Joyce Perkins served as our 1st advisor, until the official establishment in 1974.
A lot has happened in 40 years where we have moved from a small room in a basement of a hotel to a regular
hotel meeting room. This Congress has also produced many convention leaders, including current President’s &
VPs of our General Convention & auxiliaries. We are very blessed and this is only the beginning.
