CHocolate milk has less sugar than other drinks

The second reason why schools all over the world should consider to keep chocolate milk on their menu is that it is more healthy than other popular drinks . I know this because as stated from the chocolate milk company “TruMoo” says “TruMoo has significantly less added sugars than that of soft drinks and popular fruit juice drinks. Most of the sugar in TruMoo is lactose, the natural sugar found in all milk, while all of the sugars in nutrient-poor sodas are added sugars.”This is important because it shows that chocolate milk has much less sugar than other drinks like soda’s or fruit juices. Secondly, a rebuttal I got from “Ten News” is that Chloe Baker their announcer was interviewing people on what think about chocolate milk. It said “Some though believe that the nutritional benefits in flavored milk outweigh the harm in added sugar.” and then the person that she interviewed said “Seems a bit silly to me.” But what she doesn’t know is that chocolate milk has less added sugar than coke and that coke doesn’t have all the nutrients that chocolate milk has. Thirdly, Melissa Dobbins, registered dietitian with the midwest dairy council and mom did a experiment with her daughter, Sarah, and Sarah’s friend’s Julie and Makenzie. They looked at the labels on 3 of the most popular drinks which are cola, sports drink and chocolate milk to compare and contrast the amount of sugar the drinks have. Julie picked up the sports drink and she realized that if there is 3 ½ teaspoons of added sugar per serving. But, If you finish the whole bottle it would be 7 teaspoons. Makenzie got the Cola the label states that it has 9 teaspoons of added sugar, that is 3 times the amount of added sugar that chocolate milk has. Lastly, Sarah picked up the chocolate milk and Melissa said that it had only 3 teaspoons of added sugar. This is experiment proves that chocolate milk has less sugar than other beverages. Too add on, I would like to contradict celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s , point, when he made an appearance on ten news. He filled a school bus with 57 tons of sugar representing the amount of sugar from chocolate milk that americans drink a week . This may seem like a lot but it is not, this is 73.4 million kids we are talking about! Furthermore, Melissa Dobbins, registered dietitian with the midwest dairy council and mom said in an infomercial called Flavored Milk: “Tasty Nutrition” claimed that chocolate milk does have a small amount of added sugar, but chocolate milk has so much more nutrients and vitamins that soft drink just doesn’t have. Therefore the nutritious values outshine the small amount of added sugar in chocolate milk. Not only that but Melissa Dobbins also proved in an experiment that coke has three times the amount of added sugar as chocolate milk, as a matter of fact that school bus that Jamie Oliver filled with sand would be three times as much if he filled with the sugar from coke. LasltyThis is why it is more healthy than other popular drinks.
