Chocolate milk Meets the childs health needs
The first reason why chocolate milk should stay in schools is because it has enough vitamins and nutrients that chocolate milk meets the health needs of kids. My first evidence is that an amazing article called “Nutrition In Disguise” and an advertorial made by the National Dairy Council claims that chocolate milk has the same nine essential nutrients as white milk which include protein, vitamin A, riboflavin, phosphorus, vitamin B12, calcium, potassium, niacin and lastly, vitamin D. Not only that, but the chocolate milk brand “TruMoo” states that these nutrients help strengthen bones and they also build and repair muscles! But that’s not all chocolate milk is often known as “Nature’s Protein Drink” because it has a perfect ratio of carbohydrates and protein, making chocolate milk a great drink for sore and tired muscles to recover. Too add on the chocolate milk brand “Trumoo” states that chocolate milk is an effective recovery drink after things like sports and exercise, it’s high water content replaces fluids lost as sweat and its electrolytes helps your body rehydrate. Also, studies show an 8 ounce serving of chocolate milk produces as much calcium as seven cups of broccoli, as much potassium as one small banana, as much vitamin A as two baby carrots and as much vitamin D and 3.5 ounces of cooked salmon. . Also, Melissa Dobbins, registered dietitian with the midwest dairy council and mom says “Chocolate milk also helps kids get the 3 daily servings of dairy recommended by the dietary guidelines for Americans.” This is critical because it proves that chocolate milk helps the children meet their health needs and it shows that the dietary guidelines thinks so too. Not only that but according to “Trumoo” chocolate milk is less than 35% of the total added sugar in diets of kid ages 6-12 and less than 2% intake if you are a teen. Lastly, Melissa Dobbins, registered dietitian with the midwest dairy council and mom claims that kids who drink chocolate milk meet more the nutrition needs! This is why I think that chocolate milk meets the child’s health needs.
