What does fashion mean to you?
A way to express your inner part at the same time a way to
communicate with others.
What’s your favorite piece you’ve ever created?
An embroidered jacket; glam rock attitude.
What are you trying to communicate with your art?
I have no formal schooling in fashion design. Ever since my childhood,
my twin passions were books and fashions. For a while my interest in
books won out, and after finishing a Masters Degree in English
Literature at the Sorbonne, I studied theatre and experimented
with before turning instinctively to fashion design. In 1987, when
I launched my own label, my childhood passions came together, when
I decided to write with fashion instead of words - with shapes,
colours and lines.
What are your favorite fabrics to work with and why?
Leather because it is very sensual and strong at the same time.
What is the most challenging part?
The more difficult is timing..
Does your work reflect your personal style? Can you describe
your style?
My work reflects my personal fashion taste. My style: jeans or
leather pants, leather blouson or jacket depending on the season, and

and occasion little Barbara Bui dres 2
