Her collections are thoughtfully named , like the SS15 collection called Inscaping , which refers to the “ unique inner nature of a person or object as shown in a work of art ”. Gracefully shown in all of Silvae ’ s designs , the collection was introduced as a “ rebirth ”, which was echoed throughout the collection with cut-outs , textural sheer fabrics , and layered silhouettes . The SS17 collection titled Synesthesia , which is defined as “ a condition in which one type of stimulation evokes the sensation of another ”, is a visually stimulating line of clothing . The collection encourages one to look at the world from a different perspective as a way to enhance perception of the familiar . Synesthesia succeeds beautifully by creating familiar designs with a twist , making them unfamiliar yet unforgettable . Featuring Aqua Flora print created by Olivia Knapp , Seattleite artist that hand draws her patterns with pen and ink , creating supple and tangible imagery . Knapp has worked as a Printed Textile Designer in the fashion industry for several years , drawing inspiration from “ European line engravings and scientific specimens from the 16th to 18th centuries ”. Roberts met the talented artist while working for Eddie Bauer , and knew that her work would be perfect for her designs . Synesthesia boasts many beautiful colours and unique layering and wrapping pieces that act as timeless , functional and artful pieces .
