CHLOE INTERVIEW
With art and architecture as the
focal points for Incontri, his distinct
aesthetic sensibility with shapes and
material have enabled him to work
not only in mens and womenswear,
but also, in shoes, accessories and
leather goods. Incontri creates a
sophisticated world where the
philosophy of incorporating
artisanship and tailoring
in every collection.
S. Hearing the call within your mind, what was your emergence of ‘the
dream’ to express yourself through fashion?
A. The traditions of fabric research, handcraft and tailor made have bee n methods
passed down from my family. It’s not always that something must be re-done, but
rather is the beauty in the simplicity continues on.
S. As with everything, comes fear and resistance.
What and who were your obstacles in this journey?
A. I started this journey knowing that it would not be easy and that I would have
to rely on my strength. That’s why I have great respect for people who take a journey with artistic strain and carry on with tenacity despite a thousand difficulties.

S. And how were these obstacles resolved or is this still in progress?
A. It’s a long road. It takes time, tenacity and a great humility. Fear and resistance
are parts of people and we need to coexist with them to find our inner spirit and
creativity.
S. Can you determine at what point was the turning point for your
journey?
A. My path as a designer first began from my studies in art and architecture.
I started a consulting studio in 2000, collaborating with Italian artisans and
international brands and then in 2009 Andrea Incontri a RTW and leather goods
collection was born. My turning point was the 2010 “Who’s on Next” edition
that I won with leather goods and that gave me a great visibility.
