Though she lives in and loves New York City, Sami is a
traveller at heart, and has a desire to immerse herself into
different worlds and different cultures. She spent part of her
summer in Cannes, at the film festival, and visited Toronto
during the Toronto International Film Festival, wandering around
Yorkville with her mother, and eating copious amounts of
chocolate chip banana bread that can be found at Pusateri’s.
“I absolutely love Toronto!” she exclaims.
As much as she loves to travel and enjoy her cities, Sami has
The Reagan family is like another family to Sami, with
Bridget Moynahan acting as her second mother and Tom
Selleck watching out for her well-being. “Being a teenager
can be unnerving, discovering who you are,” says Gayle, “but
having two families to mentor me has been a blessing.”
As a teenager playing a teenager, Sami feels even more
connected with her role as Nicki, as her on-screen character
goes through similar events in Sami’s own life. “It’s another

Blue Bloods, which is now going into its fourth season.
Sami’s relationship with her character Nicki Reagan-Boyle
can be summed up simply in one word: family. After several

it is almost an unconscious act to slip into place when on set.
Blue Bloods, which has a focus on the life of a family of
police officers from New York, strongly emphasizes the
depth of familial ties, and Sami herself feels the importance
of love, care, and respect when on set with her fellow actors.

There is a relatable shift from teenage-years to adulthood,
with issues such as colleges and boys things she deals with in
real life too.
We only have to watch the next season of Blue Bloods, to
fully appreciate how this double family mentoring is leading
Sami Gayle on to becoming a very talented and respected
young star.
