Guests can make merry with indulgent treats and a spectacular array of winter weather activities, creating memories that tell the special story of their holiday season. Fairmont and Swissôtel’s North American hotels kick off the season of giving with Trees of Hope, the luxury hotel group’s charitable initiative that encourages hotels to light up their lobbies and give back to their local communities. Each participating hotel brings Trees of Hope to life in its own unique way, benefiting the local charity of its choice. Those looking to give back while traveling can book the Trees of Hope package, which includes up to 20 percent off the best available rate, a $10 CAD/USD donation per night to the hotel’s charity of choice, and will earn double United miles. This holiday season, select FRHI Hotels across the Americas will also be host to a Santa Suite, a specially decorated Suite that serves as Santa’s home away from the North Pole. Guests and the general public ali ke can tour the Santa Suite, complete with holiday décor such as Christmas trees, tables set for Santa Claus and his reindeer, and a gift for the children on his “nice list.” The Santa Suite started at Swissôtel Chicago in 2014, and has expanded across the region, to include Fairmont hotels in San Francisco, San Diego, Mexico, Quebec City, Toronto, Banff Springs, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Jasper. FRHI Hotels & Resorts takes pride in welcoming guests from around the world to stay and celebrate the holiday season in style. Below is a snapshot of several unique and festive holiday offerings at select North American properties: In an exclusive partnership, Versace Home Vancouver is once again collaborating with Fairmont Pacific Rim to re-imagine the traditional Christmas tree. Last year it began with a signature Christmas tree made from stacked Versace chairs. In 2016, Versace is creating an incredible Christmas tree but the devil, or in this case the Christmas angel, is in the details and it’s all under holiday wrappings, for now. Fairmont Scottsdale Princess features a four-story musical tree that plays 17 songs to 70,000 synchronized lights, plus a Desert Ice Skating Rink (made of real ice.) Three million Lagoon Lights features Santa fishing, a menorah, dreidels, elves on barges and 280 sparkling trees including a candy cane forest. Fairmont San Francisco will once again delight visitors with its two-story giant Gingerbread House in the hotel’s main lobby. The house stands more than 22 feet high and 23 feet wide and includes more than seven thousand home-baked gingerbread bricks and a ton of royal icing and candy décor. Let Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park take the stress out of grabbing those last holiday gifts with the Saks Shopping Package, including overnight accommodations and a $100 Saks Fifth Avenue Gift Card. Fairmont Le Château Montebello offers a host of Yuletide festivities, sumptuous feasts, family entertainment, snowbound activities, glittering lights, a three story high Christmas tree with fireside caroling, and cookie workshops. The Explorers’ Club at Fairmont Grand Del Mar will be transformed to a Winter Wonderland Workshop where young explorers can enjoy holiday-themed arts and crafts, and games. Guests can call the North Pole for express delivery of Santa’s favorite snack: milk and cookies. Fairmont Banff Springs creates a festive atmosphere from top to bottom with outdoor holiday lights, Brunch with Santa, a tantalizing Christmas Dinner Buffet, Santa’s workshop, a Tree lighting Ceremony, and Christmas classic bedtime stories. www.fairmont.com
