Marc Jacobs, inspired by Jeremiah
Goodman’s painting of Diana Vreeland’s sitting room and a bone-rattling loud soundtrack lifted from
Darren Aronofsky’s Requiem
for a Dream, set the tone ‘he’s
back!’ Featuring near-black
checked sheaths and an array
of wide bands of bugle beads
below the waist. Scattering
throughtout the collection
were metallic brocades and
leopard print, chevroned
mink, grommeted leather,
nailhead studded silk, and
embroideries that took cues from
portraits of the eccentric Vreeland
quoting “Jacobs may just have given
us what we never knew we wanted”.
Au Jour Le Jour
Au Jour Le Jour’s Fall collection was
front and center this season with
an abundance of minidresses,
flares, and long pencil coats in
garishly hypnotic microprints.

avoided our trademark
overblown prints and went
for a personal take on

Alessandra Facchinetti has adobted a new subtle and sophisticated approach to leather for Tods new Fall
line. Opening the show with a smooth and flawless pink leather trench followed by whipstitched wool
tailoring, suede separates, intarsia knits, and sporty, down-filled jackets. Facchinetti’s sweaters showcased
graphic designs circling the neckline and the arms above the wrists.
