Hugo Boss dress “Success is doing what you love and loving what you do.” Katia Millar CEO and Founder of Positive Fabulous Women The saying, “winners never quit and quitters never win,” doesn’t apply to Katia Millar. The CEO once felt “stuck” in an administrative position that was flexible, yet not suited to her gifts. A frustrated Millar would spend coffee breaks crying in her car. “In retrospect, I’m grateful,” she says of her resignation. “It helped transform my life in positive ways.” Millar is helping others do the same in developing a network of inspired business owners that seek authentic connections. Social Media Maven With over 8,000 members, fans and followers internationally, Positive Fabulous Women comes to life at networking events and workshops in Toronto. Millar “isn’t on soci al media 24/7,” yet believes that various platforms, from LinkedIn to Twitter, give us an “unprecedented opportunity” to connect with wide audiences. Real beauty in her own right Two years ago, Millar was cast in an online hair care commercial for the Dove Campaign For Real Beauty with 13 women from across Canada. “It was a “Dancing in the Rain” theme, so we got to work with a Hollywood choreographer,” she says of participating in the production. “A truly unforgettable day.” Learning from other women “The women in my circles tend to be passionate, heart-centered and purpose-driven – yet like most women, we’re trying to do everything by ourselves,” Millar says. When life becomes imbalanced for the entrepreneur, she steps back, takes a few deep breaths and recalibrates with her two greatest passions: hot yoga and people. “I’ll either be doing a downward dog or spending time with my family or friends.” Advice Millar has learned that she can trust her intuition to shape her life’s path. “Listen to your heart and body – and do what works for you – regardless of whether it fits society’s rules and expectations. You know yourself best.” Visit www.positivefabulouswomen.com for news on fall networking events in Toronto and Ottawa or download a complimentary copy of the PFW Manifesto www.positivefabulouswomen.com/pfw-manifesto.
