Jammy

Girl

My name is Zori Thomas aka Jammy Girl. I am the founder and C.E.O. of Soap and Soothe by Jammy Girl, LLC. I was only 11 years old when I discovered my secret to success in making natural bath and beauty products.

In life, things are not always easy for me. I have a learning disability and severe anxiety (that means I get nervous a lot). I was adopted when I was 5 months old because my birthmother did bad things and did not take care of herself while pregnant with me. But Adoption Rocks because I have the best mom ever.

She loves me, understands me and always does what is best for me.

While searching for a soothing activity to cope with my issues, I discovered the art of soap making. I love creating. I love things that smell good, and I love being clean. This is when I feel most relaxed. This all started as a hobby. Then I told my mom that I wanted to start my own business. My mother felt it should stay a hobby because she did not feel I was ready for a business at 11 years old. So I began to sell my cupcake shaped soaps to my friends without my mother knowing.

I know that was not right but I was determined to prove to my mom that I could do it. After I admitted to my mom that my soaps sold out, I asked her again about starting a business. I thought she was going to think I was still too young

but guess what?!....She told me that she could now see that I could accomplish anything I wanted with determination and support. she could now see that I could accomplish anything I wanted with determination and support. She is my #1 fan!  I decided to name myself “Jammy Girl” because I like to create while wearing pajamas... ones I only wear while making my products.

I guess they are kind of like my uniform. After one year, my business outgrew our kitchen table and I was given a room in our house! Soon I will have my own building on our land because my business has outgrown that room, too.
