NICHOLAS TRICKETT, SENIOR EDITOR
Nick Trickett is a a Washington, D.C.-based analyst. He attended Haverford College as an undergraduate
and the European University at St. Petersburg for a Masters in Russia/Eurasia studies. As a Russian
speaker with considerable time in country, he specializes in Russia and post-Soviet political economy
and foreign policy, particularly through the lens of oil, gas, and infrastructure. He has interned for the
Senate Committee on Small Business and with several think tanks, including the Hudson Institute and
Foreign Policy Initiative. He has worked as a researcher for CSIS's Reconnecting Asia project and
freelances as a writer and analyst. He also co-manages the Bear Market Blog.
JOANNA EVA, ANALYST
Joanna Eva is a Taiwan-based analyst and writer working in the risk consulting industry. She specializes in
Asian political and economic analysis, having lived and travelled extensively in the region for close to a
decade. She holds a Master of Law from the University of New South Wales and received her Bachelor of
International Studies from the University of Sydney. She is proficient in Mandarin Chinese.
JAMES TUNNINGLEY, ASSOCIATE ANALYST
James Tunningley currently works for the UK Government and is also the Head of the Young China
Watchers NGO in London. He is on the Young Leaders Program at the Center for Strategic and
International Studies (CSIS) Pacific Forum, a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society and an Adjunct Research
Fellow for the Belt and Road Initiative at the Centre for China and Globalisation think tank in Beijing.
Prior to joining the government, he held positions at the Royal United Services Institute for Defence and
Security Studies (RUSI) and the China-Britain Business Council. He is a Chinese speaker and a graduate
of the University of Oxford.
QI LIN, ANALYST
Qi Lin is a Washington, D.C.-based analyst. She specializes in East Asian security and Chinese foreign
policy. She is a Chinese native speaker and proficient in English. She holds a Bachelor’s in Political
Science from the University of North Carolina and a Master’s in International Affairs from the George
Washington University.
