(Proclamation of Festival)
In the last day of Tholpavakoothu(17th day), Komaram (Representative of Goddess) confirms the presence of old Rulers and prominent persons who have reached in the ground to hoist the flag. The Komaram will be standing in front of the Lower Temple to verify the presence of prominent persons in the area. After getting the sanction from the highly elated crowd, the flags will be hoisted in the lower and upper temples. Then the place will be echoed with cry “Ayyayyo” from the people. It will continue for 11 days (till the closing ceremony of Pooram). Such outcry is not known in any temple of Kerala. Regional feeling and emotion runs high in the Chinakkathoor areas to make the festival a success.
Parayeduppu/Thalappoli/Kummaati
After the Kooth, Parayeduppu continues for 10 days. Velicchappad, representative of Bhagavathi goes to the houses in the thattakam and accept the Para from them (Paddy) from them. 9th day is known as Thalapoli and 10th day is known as kummatti. On the 11th day, the festival will be celebrated. The Goddess Durga is sitting with a pleasant face and watching the progress of celebrations of local inhabitants with festive mood. The head of Zamorin Horse will be fitted in Kummaatti day at 2.00 PM.
