The University-based Extension: 2nd International Conference on Modern Agricultural Extension and Technology Transfer was held at Colorado State University on October 3, 2016. This conference was co-sponsored by Anhui Agricultural University (AAU) and Colorado State University (CSU). The purpose of this conference is to share research and the best practices related to the successful promotion of university-based extension, including agricultural and technology transfer applications. This event is part of the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology’s (MOST) initiative to advance the Sino-US agricultural extension and technology transfer collaborations, and builds on the first annual conference held in October 2015 at Anhui Agricultural University in Hefei, Anhui Province.
Experts in agricultural field from 10 Chinese universities; Hailong Wang, Deputy Director of Department of Science and Technology; Yawu Wang, Deputy Director, Department of Science and Technology, Rural Bureau, China Central Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST); Zhengding Xie, Deputy Director of Committee on Agricultural, Jinzhai County; Sonny Ramaswamy, Director, USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA); Glenda Humiston, Vice President for the University of California System, Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources; Lou Swanson, Vice President for Engagement, Colorado State University; Scott Reed, Vice Provost for University Outreach and Engagement, Oregon State University; Michael Wilcox, Assistant Program Leader in Community Development, Purdue University Extension attended the conference and exchange agricultural extension and technology transfer information in different sessions. .
Administrative leaders, including Rick Miranda, Provost and Executive Vice President; Jim Cooney, Vice Provost for International Affairs; Beijiu Cheng, President, Anhui Agricultural University; Wei Gao, Associate Provost for China Programs; Jie Long, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Higher Education Press attended opening ceremony and dinner reception. They strongly supported the conference and the collaborations in agricultural extension and technology transfer. Finally, everyone toasted for the successful conference and the on-going relationships and collaborations.
基于大学的推广：第二届农业推广与技术转移国际会议于2016年10月3日在科罗拉多州立大学举行。本次会议是由安徽农业大学和科罗拉多州立大学主办，目的是分享关于基于大学的农业推广和技术转换方面的研究和实践经验。此次大会是中国科技部大力推广支持中美农业推广与技术转换的重要部分。第一届年度会议于2015年10月在安徽省合肥市安徽农业大学召开。
与会人员包括来自中国10所农业大学的专家；科技处副处长王海龙；中国科学技术部科技部农村司副主任王亚武；金寨县人民政府农业发展委员为解正定；美国农业部、美国粮食与农业研究所(NIFA)主任Sonny Ramaswamy；加州大学系统农业与自然资源司副校长Glenda Humiston；科罗拉多州立大学大学拓展副校长Lou Swanson；俄勒冈州立大学大学外展与参与副教务长Scott Reed；普渡大学推广系统社区发展助力项目负责人Michael Wilcox。他们作为中美农业推广和技术转换方面的专家，与参会人员进行了深入的探讨和交流。
两校的领导包括安徽农业大学校长程备久、科罗拉多州立大学教务长Rick Miranda; 国际事务副教务长Jim Cooney; 中国事务副教务长高炜和中国高等教育出版社副总编辑龙杰参加了开幕式和闭幕式。他们对本次会议非常支持，特别是在农业推广和技术转移方面的合作。闭幕式时，每一位与会人员为本次会议的成功祝酒，并期待今后和合作。
