RESPIRATORY DISTRESS
Born at full term three years ago, Palmer gave
his parents quite a scare during his first minutes
of life. Palmer wasn’t breathing properly, and his
parents, Lindsey and Brian, were quickly alerted
that the Kosair Children’s Hospital transport team was on the way to rush him to
a team of specialists in Louisville.
After holding Palmer very briefly, Lindsey and Brian said goodbye to their bundle
of joy and prayed for his health and safety. Lindsey was still in the hospital from
the c-section, and she relied on the calls from Palmer’s doctors that came every
30 minutes during those scary first few days. After two weeks in the Neonatal
Intensive Care Unit, Palmer’s family happily took him home for the first time.
Now, he is a thriving three-year-old who loves karate, basketball, and pizza.
