Visit classes regularly; help teachers when they have problems.
Speak, read and write MT and school language fluently.
Advisory / support committee
Help main( government) supervisor to assess learners’ progress.
Make sure accurate records are kept.
Help with pre-service and in-service training for teachers.
Ensure that adequate classroom supplies are on hand.
Communicate the goals, objectives and activities of the programme to the community.
Support communication between officials and community.
Encourage the community to maintain classrooms and classroom materials, toilets and school grounds and support teachers.
Knowledgeable about the community’ s history and culture.
Confident in interactions with government officers, school officials and NGO leaders.
Experience in classroom teaching. Approved by the community.
Support the purpose and goals of the programme.
Committed to the programme and willing to work together for its success.
Approved by the community.

Ensure that teachers are in school every day and treat students appropriately.
If needed, raise funds to support the program and ensure accountability in the use of funding and other resources.
