Plumtree Baby’ s Childbirth Curriculum is a comprehensive, educator-friendly resource designed to engage and empower parents for their birth experience. This curriculum, built around our 80-page Preparing for Birth( PFB) parent book( right), covers pregnancy, labor and birth, comfort measures, and the basics of postpartum, breastfeeding and newborn care. The PFB parent book serves as an in-class guide and a take-home reference. It is available in English or Spanish, with bulk discounts offered for most orders.
An optional corresponding PowerPoint presentation enhances class structure and provides helpful visual aids. Slide numbers are embedded in the PowerPoint slides and referenced in the curriculum for easy

To support diverse teaching needs, this curriculum includes recommendations for supplemental resources like handouts and posters. This curriculum and PFB parent book incorporate all content from our standalone Finding Comfort parent book. Educators can adapt lesson plans to teach comfort measures separately, but this curriculum does not include page number references for Finding Comfort. Additionally, please note that this curriculum includes basic content for postpartum, newborn and breastfeeding education. For comprehensive content on these topics, the Postpartum and Baby Care Curriculum, based on the Settling In with Baby parent book, can be used in conjunction with Preparing for Birth, though there is some overlap.
