Thorben Danke started macro photography in 2016 while shooting a common
green-bottle fly sitting on the wall of his garage. Maybe it was this first encounter or
even the fascination it set off, but the flies have been his favorite subjects ever since.
He quickly landed inevitably in focus stacking. With a self-built and programmed
macro rail, he was able to descend the sharpness levels precisely one after the other.
With the help of image processing programs and special stacking software, he was
able to combine the single images into a complete sharp picture. With his pictures, he
wants to fascinate the people and make them see the nature through a different point
of view because only what we see, know and appreciate, we are willing to protect. You
