“A
nd now these th ree remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest
of these is love.”(1 Corinthians 13:13) They say that the only thing
to hold onto in this world is each other and what speaks of holding
each other forever better than the sacred vow of marriage.
Weddings are not just coming together of two people. It is two
families that come together beautifully and give life to an exquisite
mosaic of varied traditions and cultures.
We all have come to be at par with the wedding bells and the extravaganza that they
bring with themselves. Not just in India, but in the whole world, weddings are a feast,
not just to our stomachs but to our eyes as well. People spend a fortune on making
their weddings a lavish and memorable affair.
At first, we thought that releasing a wedding special edition will have to be something
very special and then it struck, why special, why not something different and unique?
After all each wedding comes with a different set of customs and rituals that are
unique in their own way. We searched the whole of our knowledge books for the best
of ideas and here we are with the result.
Some of the best, unknown photographers in the field have contributed with their work
and we are really happy with what it turned out to be. The story from Jai Long of the
Nomad Wedding in the desert of Alvadore portrays how beautiful it is to just go out
with family and celebrate it over a nice and happy dinner in the middle of a desert. No
pomp or show, just friends and family and wine. Chris and Lynn covers a beautiful story
of a Chinese wedding which shows us many faces of a Christian wedding as well.
Recently, Germany allowed the same sex marriage as per their provisions of law. In the
light of it, we have Dirk Kuijt, who covered a beautiful and sumptuous wedding our
beloved Earnst and Jesper. Walking down the same path, we take our readers to the
love capital of the world, to Paris, where we talk about a club that was infamous for its
LGBT connections from a long time.
Katia Peshakova, a Russian photographer who fell in love with the Indian weddings and
Napie Moksin, the underwater wedding photographer, are our best shot to make people
realize that a thing of beauty is a joy forever. Ramit Batra enlightens us with some of
the tips and tricks that can help us with the perfect shoot. Also, we have a sneak peek
into the upcoming SILK Inspire Festival in Goa.
Once in a while, in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairytale and what are
we if not the spectators of the spectacular show of two people bonding over love,
forever with the promise of ‘till death do us part.’
