India
I
ndia is a diverse land of myriad traditions, with each community
having their own rites of passage, some strange and others very
endearing, but all being part of the wedding customs. Indian
Weddings are all about pomp and splendour. They are extravagant,
beautiful, colorful, scenic, a paradise for foodies, full of mischievous
ceremonies, a display of the most interesting dance performances by the
heavily intoxicated friends and family members and are expensive as
hell.
In a diverse country like India, there are many traditions that we have
clung onto when it comes to weddings. Nowadays, weddings with the
perfect fusion of the modern and ancient culture have become so much
fun that one can hardly afford to miss such lavish experiences.
The Customs India contains more diverse cultures than the whole of
European cultures combined. There are so many different ways to get
married in India that even if you are an Indian, chances are that you
haven’t attended all sorts of possible Indian weddings.
Indians have some very unique traditions. At a Punjabi wedding, you can
expect a showcase of Bhangra, while there is Garba-dandiya at a Gujarati
wedding and Indian classical dance, or Bo llywood dance in some other
community’s weddings.
