The Indian weddings affairs are bright and
carry a whole baggage filled with different
shades of culture, emotions and all the glitz
and glamour. For a backpacker, who seeks
to encapsulate the most magnificent slant of
Indian tradition, the big fat Indian wedding is
the best that one could capture.

A beautifully composed photograph can turn
the moment into something special which
one could cherish for an entire lifetime.
Katia Peshakova, a wedding photographer
who moved to India in 2012, had been
carrying India in her heart even before she
had a chance to visit the place. She believes
in capturing the real essence of the moment,
set right at the eternal door of two souls and
transforming it into a happily ever after. She
is an international artist-photographer who
does a striking contribution in fabricating
unsullied memories for the bride and groom.
Below is a snippet from an interaction
between VISHAKHA JHA from Chiiz with
KATIA about her flawless journey to India
and her work.

What brought you to India and what made
you stay?
My childhood dream is what brought me to
India. I had been introduced to Indian culture
at age of 16, and from that time onwards
my main aim was to visit India. In fact, I
wanted to become an Indologist, but due to
lack of resources, I got myself enrolled in a
journalism course.
It was hot March morning of 2007 when my
flight landed in Delhi. It wasn’t a cultural
shock for me, as I had already read a lot
about India. I felt like coming back to home
after long vacation. And right from my first
morning at Delhi, I knew for sure that I
wanted to make India my home.
