orthern lights is a phenomenon which results in
gorgeous visual patterns taking up shapes in the
sky due to the effect which is caused by the interaction
of charged particles from the sun with atoms in the
upper atmosphere. These visuals are so mesmerising
that they leave you in a state of disbelief. These lights
can mainly be sighted from Sweden, Greenland, Iceland,
Norway, Finland and Canada and also the Southern
parts like Antarctica. In northern and southern regions
it is respectively called ‘aurora borealis’ or Northern
Lights and ‘aurora australis’ or Southern Lights. As it
always has been with the best of nature’s gifts, these
lights are not as easy to sight. One requires a great deal
of planning and calculations to be that lucky. Talking to
travel photographer, Nakul Sharma, about his recent
trip to Iceland, we got to know some very interesting
facts about this mysterious phenomenon and felt the
