Thanksgiving weekend never fails to
excite us. While you may know by now
that most of us here at the Chieftain aren’t
big fans of Halloween, we are, however,
huge fans of Thanksgiving. The food,
family and parades are all great, but the
best part of Thanksgiving has to be the
sports.
This year, the sports lineup is absolute-
ly bonkers. We have big games in college
basketball and the NFL on Thanksgiving,
and the weekend has some stellar NBA,
college football and NHL games. Let’s
take a look at some of the best sporting
events coming up.

The NFL is notorious for its Thanks-
giving games. The three games this year
start, as always, with our Detroit Lions
taking on the Chicago Bears. The 12:30
p.m. game should be an exciting one, as
the Bears are a much-improved team,
including the addition LB Khalil Mack.
The 4:30 p.m. game will be an Ameri-

we have Thunder-Warriors and

to keep us intrigued.
Our hometown Pistons will take

nity to showcase their stuff on a

NHL
The NHL is back and all the
hockey fanatics are licking their
chops at the lineup for Thanksgiv-
ing weekend.
On one night alone, we will see
Panthers-Lightning, Red Wings-Bru-
ins, Jets-Flames and Blackhawks-Capitals.
These games will all be televised nation-
ally and are well worth the watch.
While perhaps not as fl ashy as the other
sports, try to catch a little of the NHL ac-
tion. You won’t be disappointed.
