Since it returned in 2004 after a 20-year layoff, Field Day has been a very fun and exciting event for Brother Rice students. It allows all students and teachers to get involved and feel the sense of camaraderie and brotherhood on which the school was founded.
Field Day 2017 was no different. It was a very close and competitive day, with only 10 points separating the first-place from fifth place. In the end, thanks to key wins in volleyball and handball, and a close secondplace effort in dodgeball, St. Padre Pio was able to pull out a

Often overlooked and rarely given any love by Brother Rice, the JV division of intramural football is getting the respect it deserves this year.
Every fall, students gather their teams and head out to Marian’ s South Field to show off their athleticism and, most importantly, their grit. Mr. Kuschel organizes the program that has always been a great way for students to come together and compete with their friends, as well as create affability with more than just your own grade.

that. With only three teams competing this year in the JV division, the famous saying“ quality over quantity” has great meaning here.
First, the Blue Chips led by the mighty Patrick O’ Leary, have come out with a bang by handling the Gump Gang, 77- 56, in their first game. This led to Blue Chip Luke Dudley to bring out his hot take, saying,“ I think we’ re just as good, if not better, than the Sophomores.”
Next up, we have the Gump Gang, one of two Sophomore teams. Led by Tom Mulroy, the Gang is sitting in first place currently, with a total of 259 points, more than the two other teams combined. The Gumps are also known to bring out their nicest jerseys for game

With another notable absence of the traditional Senior Field Day video, things appeared to start off slow. But as soon as the events started heating up, so did everyone’ s spirits.
The day started off with an awesome Mighty Mouse campaign. At 104 pounds, Gianni Dalimonte put up an impressive 40 reps of 65 pounds and brought home the win for Max Kolbe.
