Following a 28-9-1 record last year, the Baseball Team is definitely setting its goals high this Spring. They have one of the strongest Senior classes in recent memory, and some very good younger guys, as well.“ Reese Trahey, Gabe Sotres, and Jack Orlowski are committed to Michigan State,” Junior Pitcher Tyler Sarkisian said.“ Joe Burtraw is committed to Ohio Valley and, most recently, Jack Brockhaus committed to Kalamazoo College. With a strong Senior class, young talent, and the loss of only three

The team’ s annual aspirations haven’ t changed, according to Sarkisian.
“ We have three goals every year,” he said.“ First, we try to finish first in the Catholic League. Then, we strive to win the Catholic League Championship at Comerica Park. Finally, our ultimate goal is to win a State Championship. If everyone does his part and we complete these goals one at a time, we should have a great year.”

It’ s called“ March Madness” for a reason, and this year’ s NCAA tournament has been nothing short of madness. With no overpowering team this year in college basketball, there were bound to be a few upsets.
Starting with Buffalo over popular Final Four pick Arizona, Marshall over Wichita State, and the biggest upset in the history of the sport, UMBC becoming the first 16 seed to upset a No. 1 seed( and the overall No. 1 seed, at that), Virginia.
While all those Cinderellas all were eliminated in the Round of 32, one special team is still dancing, the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers. The Ramblers and Sister Jean have survived the South Region and are going to the Final Four, as only the fourth 11 seed to reach the Final Four.
The Ramblers( 29-5 and the Missouri Valley Conference champions) have rolled their way to San Antonio. While they got some help when some of the higher seeds in their region got knocked off, they have held their ground and are two wins from the National Championship.
Loyola will face the hometown Michigan Wolverines, who won the West Region. This Michigan team is exciting, from the stellar three-point shooting to lockdown
