ISIS Stays in the Headlines
Though ISIS troops lost the border city of Kobani,
Syria, the Middle Eastern radicals have taken hold
of the oil-rich northern Iraqi city, Kirkuk, leaving
Kurdish forces facing more difficult circumstances
than ever to withstand the violence. ISIS also
released a video displaying the burning alive of a
Jordanian pilot who had been in the hands of the
militants since his plane crashed on a bombing
operation in northern Syria. Earlier, the group released videos showing the slaying of two Japanese
hostages, one of them a journalist.
Romney: ‘No’ to Running in 2016
The Republican candidate for the 2012 Presidential
election, Michigan native Mitt Romney, has opted
not to run for the office again in the upcoming
election. The decision not to run came as somewhat
of a surprise, because, just a few weeks prior, the
former Massachusetts governor announced that he
was considering giving the White House another
shot.

Senator Rand Paul have once again announced that
decisions about child vaccinations should be up to
the parents. While both men have stood by these
views for some time now, the recent measles outbreak has stirred up discussion regarding mandatory vaccinations. Opponents of Christie and Paul
tout proof justifying mandatory vaccinations. The
leading Democratic Presidential contender for the
2016 election, Hilary Clinton, tweeted, “The science
is clear: The Earth is round, the sky is blue, and
vaccines work. Let’s protect our kids.”
