Sports are a huge deal here at Rice. Big sports like Football, Hockey, and Lacrosse get a lot of attention. Other sports programs go unnoticed and underappreciated – most specifically, the Bowling and Skiing teams. Let’ s look at how these teams expect to perform this year.
Let’ s start with BOWLING. Last year, the team had three individuals participate at the State Finals: Lorenzo Vitale, Patrick Bronstein, and Jack Sielicki. With 30 more pins at Regionals, the whole team would have advanced.
This year’ s team is composed of

mostly Seniors with a bad taste in their mouth from last year. These guys are hungry and looking to seriously com- pete.“ There is no doubt in my mind that we have the ability to win states if we execute this season,” said Sielicki.
The SKIING team is in a somewhat similar situation. Finishing third in the division last year, these guys are expecting big things coming into this season.
Looking to rebuild around their core group, Junior Captain Colin Condit said the team is“ looking to compete at Regionals” this season.
Good luck to both teams, as they hope to perform to the best of their ability this season.
