For some people, selling raffle tickets is a burden but, for others, it’s a chance to demonstrate their sales ability and give back to the school. In addition to the various awards students can win to keep them engaged, there were entertaining pep rallies. This year, we have seen all different types of games and performances, most of which come from The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon but nonetheless are exciting. Water has been dumped and eggs have been smashed on teachers, plus half-court shots, lip-syncing, and the fan favorite, musical chairs basketball. The teachers did a great job of entertaining the crowd, especially Mr. Hickey’s antics in water wars and Mr. Kuschel and Mr. DiPierro’s lip-syncing act. And, of course, nobody can script the outcome or even prevent the competition from getting out of hand, not even Mr. Birney.
