GAME DETAILS & ENTERTAINMENT PREGAME The Star-Spangled Banner will be performed this evening by Matthew Johnson. Matthew Johnson was born in Washington DC in 1993 and relocated to Jacksonville Florida in 1998. Matthew attended Mandarin High School and sang for the School’s Chamber and Gospel Choirs. He was voted Most Talented in his senior year and graduated in 2011. Matthew is an Alumni of Florida State College at Jacksonville and also Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, TX. While attending Southwestern Christian College, Matthew sang and toured with the school’s choir across the country. Matthew has also sang and toured with several local ensembles. Matthew appeared on Season 16 of NBC’s Emmy Award winning singing competition show called “The Voice.” Matthew auditioned for the show singing Kirk Franklin’s “I Smile.” Matthew’s Blind Audition received a four-chair turn from all coaches that include John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton. Matthew chose John Legend to be his coach after his Blind Audition. During the next round of the Competition Matthew sang a Luther Vandross classic called “Never Too Much.” Matthew was ultimately stolen by Coach Kelly Clarkson and remained in the competition. Matthew fi nished in The Top 24 and sang other hit songs such as Jackson 5’s “Who’s Lovin You” and also John Legend’s “Ordinary People.” Since the show Matthew has released his fi rst Single entitled “Used” and Matthew continues to follow his dreams of being a Professional Recording Artist.
