I had a great time at this year’s Real Ale and
Jazz Festival. The beer and the music were as ingredients for a
good as ever. The bar was busy all day, so too full-English

hard during the day so we could all enjoy
ourselves.
So how are we doing?
You all should have received an email by
now from the Club asking you to fill in a
questionnaire. We would like to receive your
feedback on the social events we have held
this year. The membership is constantly
changing and so too are your needs.
There are only a few questions and it
shouldn’t take long to complete. We have
already started looking at the Club
Programme for next year, so your views are
important in helping us shape the social
events we put on.
During the Festival, I managed to speak to
several visiting sailors. All were very
complimentary of the Club and the facilities we
have. One ever said “This is my favourite club
on the south coast and I love coming here”. It
is easy sometimes to forget what a great place
the Club is and what splendid facilities and
views we have.
Closure of the Marina Stores
Some of you will be aware that the local
chandlers closed in August. As well as boating
equipment the shop provided some last-minute
provisions for sailors.
The future of the unit is still unclear, but in the
meantime, as a service to our members, Andy
has developed his “Breakfast in a Box”.
