The Commodore reported that
Club operations management
is a bit stretched at this time of
year but should be back to
normal in September. Maddie’s
imminent departure has led the
Board Sub Committee (BSC)
to look at operational
management in the future and
BSC will be making
recommendations to the
General Committee (GC) in due course.
Agreed to put a special resolution to the
AGM abolishing the post of Vice
Commodore, thereby opening up the
route of succession to Commodore to a
wider group.
Agreed to maintain summer hours in
the Bar and Restaurant until the last
weekend of October, to coincide with
the BST / GMT clocks change. It also
agreed to open on Mondays and
Tuesdays during the winter but operate
earlier closing times.
Noted that proposals for replacement of
the bridgeheads were still awaited and
asked for an urgent update from the
team looking at this. It had been hoped
to complete the work this winter but the
allocated money will be spent
We hope you will be able to join
us at the Club AGM on October
29th at 15:00, and look forward
to seeing you there.

It was noted that membership continues
to grow well and it is hoped to examine
the demographics of this. There has
been a noticeable rise in applicants for
Under 40s Family membership which is
good news for the future of the Club.
It was reported that the Club has now
been granted a Ceremonial License for
weddings which opens up a new
revenue stream for the future.
Asked that bandwidth for broadband in
the Club be investigated as this
seemed to be having an effect on
systems.
Agreed that the forthcoming AGM
would be followed by a review of 2017
so far and a look forward to 2018.
The next General Committee meeting is
on 30 September 2017 at 10:00.
