Thank you for electing me your 27th
Commodore. After 33 years being a member
some say it is about time!

next month.

I would like to thank Paul Londesborough and
the retiring General Comittee for their work in
bringing the club to where it is today. The
club is in great shape and it is really good to
be taking over the reins at this time in the
club’s life. This yacht is cruising well and is
nowhere near the rocks!

Elizabeth and I very
much enjoyed the
CYC walk last month and I would like to see
more specific interest groups within the Club
for our members, particularly those who are
no longer quite so actively boating.

We have a dedicated team both paid and
unpaid in the new GC and under our new
General Manager Manu Jenkin. We will
continue to build on past successes and will
tackle projects that enhance membership of
our club and make it more attractive for
others to join.

Tom and his team have laid on an interesting
and varied winter programme.
Please do support this, and Elizabeth and I
look forward to meeting many of you in the
Club over the next few months.

Please do keep communicating your ideas
and comments through your Rear
Commodores and their committees. As I said
at the AGM I am planning to create a Seniors
Group under a Past Commodore to help the
older members, of which I am one, to have a
stronger voice within the club. I will be able to
