Club General Manager — Manu Jenkin We have had a super start to 2019 with, on the water, three very well attended days of racing as part of the Snowflake series. It was a great sight to see over 50 boats racing, with age groups ranging from pre-teens to veterans. As one of the very few clubs on the South Coast running a Winter series, we attract lots of visitors and it is gratifying to hear the many positive comments on the welcoming feel of the Club, the friendliness of our members, and the quality of our facilities; a Dell quay member who was at the RYA Forum hosted at the Club on January 28th was extremely complimentary about the food box given during the Winter Series, which includes a flask of hot soup, some sandwiches and chocolates bars. This is supplied to all on the water volunteers just in case you are considering helping out. Off the water, our initiative of third Wednesday themed supper night started with “a pie and a pint” and will be followed this month by an Italian evening with a movie night. See details on the around the Club pages. It would be useful if you could let us know if you are planning to come so the kitchen can cater accordingly. The staff, the service, the food and the decor were all absolutely wonderful! It was a class act!! Then there were our usual ramblers, winter lecture, a mini lecture on marine diesel engine, the first of our classic car meets and an extremely well attended Cruising seminar. So, all in all another busy month. CYC focuses on Social Media! Are you using social media? We are! We will be focusing our marketing attention on our social media feeds from March.
