Commodore Tony Mobbs
Well what a start to the New Year.
The Club was beaten by storms Dylan and
Eleanor, the latter combined with an
abnormally high tide and low pressure caused
considerable damage to the Dinghy Park and
the Eastern Pontoon. But thanks to a rallying
call from the Saga Louts and brilliant cross-
sectional support (plus a little help from a
mechanical digger), the Dinghy Park and the
pontoon are now back to their normal state. A
big thank you to all of you who gave up your
time to help.
Kitchen Refurbishment
The Kitchen is now back to being fully
operational after its refurbishment. The issue
was the main extractor unit above the
cookers. It was nearly 30 years old, well over
its normal operation life.
New Club
Café
This month we are opening our new CYC
Café. We will be open
from 10am for coffee
and now cakes, thanks
to our wonderful cake

along and experience
our extensive

newspapers.

Loyalty Scheme
A big thank you to Andy and his team for
maintaining a reduced service to members
throughout the refurbishment, working from a
temporary “field kitchen” in the Sloop. Building
on his skills developed back in his old army
days.
I would just like to remind everyone about the
Club’s Loyalty Scheme. If you are over 70
years of age and been with the Club for 20
years or more, then you are entitled to join the
Club’s Loyalty Scheme, which will entitle you
to £50 to spend in the Bar and Restaurant. If
