Looking ahead: Club strategy for 2017-2019
At the October AGM, General Committee
member Philip Brown presented the four
themes for the long-term strategy and
development of the club.
He said that CYC wants to be recognised as a
leading sailing club both locally and
throughout the Solent. It aims to consolidate
its position as a club for all sailing and boating
enthusiasts, however diverse their interests,
where learning, racing and cruising are to the
fore, all underpinned by a full social
programme and delivering maximum value for
membership. It will continue to offer an
introduction to sailing and a means of
developing skills and experience while
providing a safe and welcoming environment.
The club is for experts and novices of all ages,
for boat owners and crews and for active
sailors and those who just like to be around
boats and the sea.
