The Crazy Days Of Summer
Wow, what a summer we are having, I cannot
remember when it last rained.
The hot weather has made sailing very
interesting. Depending on the time of day,
there has been either not enough or
too much wind.
Remember if you are going on the
water then do follow the advice to
use plenty of sun cream
(remember the water can wash it
off), drink plenty of water and do
cover up, in particular your head.
If it is too hot to sail, then do enjoy
the coolness of the Club. A lot of
members are enjoying the
summer from our beautiful
garden in the cool breeze.
Pop-Up BBQs
The warm weather has enabled
us to introduce our new “Pop
Up” social events. Theses are events
we can organise at short notice which
are not in the programme.
The two Pop-Up BBQs
we have held so far
have both proved to be
very popular. Thanks to
Andy and his team for
providing a great range
of food.
To keep up to date with
events and to find out
more about what is
going on at the Club
you can either sign up
for notifications from
the Club’s website,
receive your Club
Section’s weekly
update report or by
signing up to your
2
Section’s WhatsApp Group (oh how times
have changed!!).
Real Ale and Jazz Festival
A reminder that this year’s ever
popular Real Ale and Jazz festival
will be held on Saturday 25th
August which is the bank holiday
weekend. Read more about it on
following pages in this magazine.
New Club Visitor
We have had a new regular
visitor to the Club over recent
weeks.
This young female duck, pictured here, can be
seen regularly wandering into the Club looking
for titbits to eat.
She is complexly
fearless and unaware
of the Club’s rules for
signing in guests. If
you do see her then
gently persuade her to
leave, or contact a
member of staff.
Out of respect for our
new friend, Andy has
taken duck off the
menu.
