The Flag Day Committee is hosting the annual Flag Day celebration at 7 a. m. Saturday, June 14, in Hazel Tilton Park. The theme is“ Raising Old Glory at the Tomato Fest” and will feature a musical tribute to the flag. Chicken biscuits, coffee and orange juice will be served.

The Thomas Jefferson Rusk Rotary Club is hosting its annual golf tournament beginning at 9 a. m. Saturday, June 14, at Birmingham Golf Club, 875 Copeland St. in Rusk. The format is a four-person scramble and teams must have a 48 or more combined handicap. The cost is $ 40 per person. Carts are $ 10 per person. The Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 41st annual Tomato Fest in downtown Jacksonville. The event covers five blocks along Commerce Street with hundreds of vendors and plenty of activities. Attendees can enjoy a car show, motorcycle show and a number of tomato-related contests. The annual Juneteenth celebration is scheduled for Saturday, June 21. The day will start at 10 a. m. with the parade, beginning at 612 Martin Luther King, Jr
Boulevard and ending at Lincoln Park, where the remainder of the festivities will begin.

The Rusk Rotary Club is hosting its annual July Fourth parade, followed by the Gauge Lankford Fireman’ s Competition. The events will be held at the city’ s downtown square.
A July Fourth fireworks show is hosted just after nightfall each year at Lake Jacksonville. The Jacksonville Lake Association solicits donations from businesses, organizations and individuals each year to fund the annual event.
The annual community PowWow is being held Friday, August 22, at the Historic Tomato Bowl. This event allows the community to meet the Jacksonville High School coaching staff and the student athletes prior to the start of school.

The Jacksonville Independent School District is hosting a celebration Friday, August 29, in honor of the Historic Tomato Bowl being voted the best high school stadium in Texas. The event is scheduled to take place inside the Tomato Bowl, prior to the kickoff of the first home football game of the season.
