Friends of Sedona
Public Library

F

riends of Sedona Public Library is
a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
that supports the Library as it strives
to fulfill its mission to serve as a center
for community activities and provide
information services to all. By enhancing the Library’s resources, the Friends
increase community access to information and knowledge and help create a
vibrant cultural gathering place.

T

he Sedona Library Board of
Trustees is responsible for
governing our nonprofit
library and assuring that it has the
financial resources necessary to
continue to meet the needs of our
patrons with the highest-quality
services. The Board is made up of
a diverse and dedicated group of
individuals with varying professional experience, including lawyers, accountants, human resource
professionals, business managers,
and marketers.
A few of the important duties
of the Board are:
n

Fundraising to support continued operation and any
necessary expansion of the
Library in a fiscally responsible manner
n Making and enforcing all policies, rules, regulations, and
bylaws necessary to administer and govern the Library and
all library property
n Exercising and administering
any trust declared or created
for the Library
n Employing a Library Director,
and empowering the director
to administer library policies
We truly enjoy working with
the library staff and our patrons
as a team to make our library a
vibrant community center for all
of Sedona and for the Village of
Oak Creek!
