FutureAges and Son of Buff

6 Chase The Panic! / March 2014

Live at the Railway Hotel [ 07/02/14 ]

With its comfortably twilit atmosphere and friendly eclectic mix of clientele, the Railway Hotel has been a popular creative arts venue boasting a constantly evolving hotbed of musical talent for many years. A perfect setting for a joint EP launch night from Southend based bands FutureAges, and dynamic duo, Son of Buff. The downstairs bar is fully packed with supporters long before the first drum beat can be heard. These highly anticipated local artists already know how to draw in a crowd.

Without seeing FutureAges it’s hard to describe the unique electricity that pulses through the room during their performance.

The experimental rock band, who have been likened to a female-fronted Mars Volta, effortlessly capture the attention

of their audience – bar staff included. If it wasn’t for the punchy guitar riffs and haunting, melodically propelled vocals you might be able to hear a pin drop. Formed in 2012, the band already have famous fans, from Scroobius Pip to Yoko Ono. With their newly released second EP ‘002’, their creativity shows no sign of slowing down.
