C(H)ARÁCTER “We have to practice the extended racket trick so we would dominate it.” That’s how we have practiced all week. Now is the 24th of June; The summer solstice and the day of the First God and Demigod squash league tournament and I was really excited. “Welcome to the Squash finals” shouted the referee. “Team Poseidon, Team Zeus, you are called to enter field number one.” We walked slowly as we came inside the field. We could use the beach as the walls were made of crystal. Zeus and Thalia were on their usual combined uniform and their gold and lightning rackets made up by Hephaestus. We had our greenish blue uniform with our silver-water trident shaped rackets made up by the Cyclops that once was attacked by Ulysses. The match started; we were the servers so we kicked the ball and almost instantaneously deflected a nick drop that Thalia put near my feet. We pressed them back and made front drops as we took a breath. They were really tired and we put our advantage on that. We made them run and in a moment there we remounted the initial 5 to 4 with a 9 to 11 score. We could not believe that we had won. That was really amazing. It was the first time that I could do an activity with my father, “legally” and we had won the tournament. We were the champions! 98
