amenities including a sled hill, a pool, synthetic turf fields, sports lighting, and an
ice rink.

do not support indoor development because they don’t want to increase
department spending while 6 prefer to maintain the existing indoor facilities
instead of developing anything new.

walking track (2 comments), an ice rink (1 comment), theater space (1 comment),
and a spa (1 comment). 1 comment also suggested adding a field house which

Suggestions for existing indoor amenities also included providing more rentable
rooms (3), relocating the Wildlife Discovery Center to a larger site (1 comment),
improving the West Park Fieldhouse for winter use center (1 comment),
upgrading spaces for teenagers (1 comment), and modernizing the fitness center
(1 comment). Once again, Kinderhaven was a high priority with 5 responses
calling for expansion. 1 comment also requested before-school care.

Improvements and expansions to the Recreation Center were suggested in 2
comments and 3 comments recommended constructing a new recreation center
facility. For existing indoor amenities at the Recreation Center, respondents
suggested adding separate racquet sport courts for squash (3), pickleball (3),
paddle tennis (2), and racquetball (1), adding more studio space (1), expanding
gymnasium space (1), and improving locker room and restrooms (1).
