Amenity Service Area
The amenity service area table describes the
recommended service area per NRPA recommendations
for each amenity and lists the number of each amenity
owned and operated by the Parks and Recreation
Department. The map to the right illustrates the density of
amenities throughout the City. The white dots represent
an individual amenity and the surrounding orange halo
illustrates that amenity’s service area. The darkest shades
of orange indicate the overlap of multiple amenity service
areas while the lightest shade of orange represents
coverage by a single amenity only.
Golf Course
The National Parks and Recreation Association (NRPA)
established service areas to for each park classification
and individual recreation amenities in its 1990 and 1996
publications of the Park, Recreation, Open Space, and
Greenway Guidelines.
