LOOKING FOR LATE-SEASON ANSWERS Jaguars continue December homestand against Los Angeles Chargers By: J.P. Shadrick JACKSONVILLE – The questions keep piling up for the Jaguars. Offensive balance. Defensive depth. Early-game scoring. Second-half defense. Now it is the quarterback position. After improving to 4-4 at the end of October, the Jaguars dropped their next four games to fall to 4-8 and out of the AFC South race. They cling to a faint hope of a wild-card spot if they win the remaining four games and fi nd a lot of help along the way. The way the Jaguars have looked the last month-plus, any playoff talk will likely be on hold for the immediate future. There are bigger issues for the long-term future of the team. Today, the Jacksonville Jaguars (4-8) host the Los Angeles Chargers (4-8) in Week 14 with a chance to right some of the wrongs from the last four games and start building some type of momentum in the fi nal month of the season. Offense The major question surrounding the future of this Jaguars offense is at the quarterback position. Nick Foles made the start last week, but after three turnovers and three three-and-outs in six fi rst-half possessions, Gardner Minshew II entered the game after halftime. Minshew led two scoring drives and got the Jaguars within 14 points. The Jags later were knocking on the door to make it a one-score game, but an interception in the end zone ended the threat of a comeback.
