Seasoned members
This addition is new , and these ladies are current and long-standing members that we wish to feature . This month we start with Helen Heestand . She ’ s been a Niner for 22 years , and she “ brings in the clown ” to help out when needed . She actually attended clown school in 1993 and has been the clown for the Charbonneau ’ s Easter Egg Hunt for many years . She ’ s also been involved with Boys and Girls Aid , the Candle Lighters ( an organization for children with cancer ), and the end-of-the-year banquets . Live Music
Every Week brings to the organization . A retired art teacher who worked on brochures , signs and posters , Bobbi Christiansen has been a Niner for 18 years . She has worked on the Wilsonville Garden Aid Society , the Art Association , I-5 Connection , and has directed and participated in the end-of-theyear banquet for 14 years . At one point the Niners had only six girls in the dance line , and it now has 15- 18 dancers ! She enjoys the cooperative efforts and the extreme talent of the ladies . Many thanks to Bobbi for her contributions .
Reminder : You can still donate to the Virtual Pink Ball ! Checks are to be made out to the OHSU Foundation and can be mailed to Karen Siegel at 32635 SW Lake Point Ct ., Wilsonville , OR 97070 . We appreciate your contribution !

A year of changes , adjustments

Wow , what a golf year this has been ! If it wasn ’ t the COVID-19 virus , it was
MASON wildfire smoke .
These two items required many changes to planned games and events by the board and some on very short notice due to changing circumstances .
To review , we started canceling events last March when a series of planned offseason seminars on rules
and the new handicapping system , equipment and golf exercises were originally delayed , but later canceled . Modifications were made for Opening Day ( no breakfast , no shotgun start ), cancellation of the Charbonneau Cup and no Hole-In-One awards due to “ inverted cups .” Until the inverted cups were replaced with foam donuts , many members had very some interesting discussions about whether the putt was in the hole or not . The foam donuts allowed us to reinstate Hole-In-One awards . Most of our major golf events continued with little impact other than the Invitational . The Invitational was replaced with a very creative member only “ Shoot Out ” event coordinated by Ford Morishita . This event was very well received by our members and that format may appear next year as a regular event .
With all of that said , generally I think all of our members greatly appreciated having the course open . Many likely played more golf this year than they had in any recent year since they were limited in terms of alternative activities . In fact , some may have played too much golf as there seems to have been a noticeable increase in injuries among our members as the season progressed .
Men ’ s Club Annual Meeting to be held Oct . 17
Another change is required for our Closing Day activities which are scheduled for October 17 this year . Normally we would have a breakfast that morning , hold our Annual Business Meeting and then play a shotgun start , scramble golf game . Under current Covid-19 restrictions , we are unable to
